Rock Cats sweep Senators

You can't kill stupid

A three-run 8th inning, sparked by a leadoff home run by Tommy Watkins and capped by Luis Jiminez' 2-run double, gave the New Britain Rock Cats a come-from-behind 6-5 victory over Harrisburg today and allowed the Rock Cats to complete a 4-game sweep of the Senators. The Rock Cats' Alex Romero contributed an RBI single in the 4th to extend his hitting streak to 21 games. Romero's current streak began the day after a previous 14-game streak had ended, meaning that Romero has now hit safely in 35 of his last 36 games.

The chicks is reading Penthouse, the pigs is reading TASS, you better shut the oven, you're wasting all the gas Dee Haynes as a Raven

One player of note for Harrisburg was Dee Haynes, who had a 3-for-4 day with a double and two runs scored. Haynes led the Eastern League in RBIs (.312, 21 HRs, 98 RBI) when he played for the New Haven Ravens in 2002. This season with the Senators, Haynes is batting .283 with 19 home runs and 61 runs batted in.

Is the cat in that logo the same one as in the Paula Abdul video that was popular in the early nineties? Hrmm...

BTW, I gave you a spot on the old blogroll ("Guys Scratching Themselves").

"Opposites Attract", with MC Skat Kat! Gee, I'd never thought to make that connection before... and here I was, thinking that the worst part of being a New Britain Rock Cats fan was having to hear them play "Rock This Town" by the Stray Cats at the beginning of every home game.
