Evgeni Malkin has 6-point game for Metallurg Mg

I'm never talking to you again Evgeni Malkin (Is he saying "Blame Canada"?)

A few days after returning to his home country following Russia's loss to Canada in the World Junior Championships in Vancouver, Evgeni Malkin reclaimed the lead for the scoring title in the Russian Super League by amassing six points in one game this weekend. Malkin had 3 goals and 3 assists for Metallurg Magnitogorsk in their 9-2 victory on Saturday over Sibir Novosibirsk, a team in the lower half of the standings in the RSL. Malkin currently stands as the leading scorer in the RSL with 43 points (19g, 24a) in 35 games.

Hold it, now hit it

Evgeni Malkin is also currently the leading vote-getter among forwards for the East squad in the upcoming Russian Super League All-Star Game, to be played on January 22nd. Metallurg's Travis Scott, a 7-year veteran of the AHL, is leading in the voting among Eastern goalies. Former Hartford Wolf Pack goalie Steve Valiquette is fourth among goalies in the West, in a very tight voting race with only 9 votes separating the top 5 goalies. Voting ends right about now (January 16th), meaning there's only a slim chance left for anyone who wants to stuff the ballot box for Anton But (Lokomotiv/West), but you can still try anyway.
