Jeff Hamilton in Blackhawks camp

Fans around here always seem interested in what former Hartford Wolf Pack/Bridgeport Sound Tigers forward Jeff Hamilton is up to, so I'm passing along a note that was at the bottom of a story in the Connecticut Post, written by Michael Fornabaio (who also keeps a Sound Tigers blog, Soundin' Off):

Another departure is former Sound Tigers standout left winger Jeff Hamilton; he is in the Chicago Blackhawks' training camp on a tryout. Hamilton is the Sound Tigers' all-time leading goal scorer with 89.

UPDATE 9/16/06 -Hamilton has signed with the Grand Rapids Griffins, the Detroit Red Wings' AHL affiliate.

UPDATE 9/29/06 -Saying, "Hamilton made our team by having a great camp", the Blackhawks signed Hamilton to a one-year deal.

I saw him at the Cat Walk last week. I can't believe he's in a NHL camp...
